The St. Josephine Bakhita Skirt

When I was in 2nd grade, I said I wanted to be a saint and a track star in the Olympics. Neither have come close to coming true but what they stood for still runs deep in my heart. I love competition and I love to find ways to help. Recently I discovered that St. Josephine Bakhita is my favorite saint because despite the physical and emotional abuse she endured, her ability to maintain a positive outlook, to turn towards her faith and desire to put into action various ways to help the world around her. She is a great inspiration to see the good in the bad.
